Welcome to Record Internet Radio!

Record Internet Radio
Internet radio is fast becoming popular as people want to get their music no matter what city, state or country they are in. I am going to show you how to record and play Internet radio on any Windows computer that has an Internet connection. First off you will need to get the right software. Next you will need to connect up with your favorite Internet radio stations to play your tunes. And then you will find out how to record your favorite music.
A few disclaimers before we begin is in order. What I am going to show you is only known to work on Windows XP, Vista and 7 but may work on other versions as well. Some Windows installations come with the Windows Media Format (WMF) driver already installed which is needed to listen to Internet radio. But if not, don’t worry! It will be installed later automatically if needed.
To begin, boot your computer into Windows and make sure your Internet connection is working. Next, start your favorite web browser (Firefox is recommended) and enter “download freecorder” into the search box and click the applian.com link on the search results page. Follow the instructions on the screen and download the Freecorder installation program. Next, open a second tab in your web browser and enter “download winamp” into the search box and click on the winamp.com link. Follow the onscreen instructions and download the Winamp standard installation program. Save both files to your desktop to make it easy to find them later.
The first step is to install the Freecorder software. You can just click through to accept their terms and conditions and default installation folder. However when asked, choose the Custom Installation (Advanced) radio button and uncheck all the extras it wants to install, unless you really want to install them. After clicking to continue, the software will be installed, and after a few minutes will ask you to install Real Player so you can watch videos. This box is checked by default, but if you already have a video player you should uncheck the box. After that, click the Finished button.
The next step is to install the Winamp software. Click through to accept the terms and conditions and the default installation folder just like before. When prompted, just accept the default plugins for now and click Next, and then select where you want Winamp icons to be put and click Next again. A prompt may pop up asking if you want a toolbar, search engine home page and other stuff to be installed, I just uncheck them all and click Next for that and any other ads inside the installation program. Finally, click on the Install button. When installation is complete, uncheck the Run Winamp box and click the Finish button. If your computer did not already have the needed drivers, you may have noticed that Winamp automatically downloaded and installed them for you.

Now, to play your favorite tunes, restart your web browser and click on the blue glass player in the middle of the Freecorder toolbar that was just installed. It will pop up a menu with a few existing stations, and an option called Add and Edit Stations. Click this menu option to find and add stations based upon the music genres you like to your My Stations list. Once you’ve found and added all the stations you like, just select that station from your My Stations list and it will start playing in just a few seconds.
Recording your favorite music is really easy now. Click on the Record Audio Tool toolbar icon and a pop up window displaying a waveform and how much data has been recorded will be shown. You are now recording your favorite music. To stop recording, hover your mouse pointer over the bottom right of the pop up window and a Stop Recording button will be displayed.
Once you want to replay your music, just click the Play Tool toolbar icon, and you will be shown a list of all the recordings you have made. Double click the recording you want to play and it will be loaded and played in Winamp. Note that Winamp is only used to play previously recorded tunes, not tunes being played live over the Internet radio station.
There you have it! It takes about five minutes to get everything set up, and when finished you can not only access Internet radio worldwide but can record your favorite tunes in MP3 format as well.
